Mwatana Organization for Human Rights, in partnership with UNDP, has held a training course on “Basics of Monitoring Violations of International Humanitarian Law” for 20 trainees from Yemeni CSos and activists.
The training course which was in Yemen’s capital city of Sana’a lasted for three days from February 23-25, 2016. It aimed at providing the participants with basics pertaining to monitoring of violations of International Humanitarian Law, and concept of Transitional Justice and its experiments in different countries such as South Africa and Morocco.
Participants asserted the significance of such training sessions to enhancing human rights awareness regarding IHL and the means of applying it in the Yemeni situation.
The training included various rehearsal activities for different cases monitored by the participants. Such training sessions come through the prism of Mwatana organization to raise public awareness of human rights issues and ways of defensing them.
