To All World,

You are entitled to your joy which is a glimmer of hope and beautiful scene on earth, however we want you to feel for us and to know that:

While you are wrapping New Year presents, we barely could find burial cloth for victims in Yemen. While your streets blazed with colored lights and your sky with fireworks, the very darkness still swallow all country’s cities. While you’re receiving on salaries and bonuses, Yemeni employees haven’t received any government salary for over two years.

While your leaders are celebrating with you at clubs and public spaces, our leaders are battling over our bodies, destroying our modest spaces and meager possessions, and turning every corner into a battlefield and every citizen into potential corpse. Some of your leaders, however, sell them weapons and support them.

While your children’s schools are closed for holidays, shells and rockets are preventing Yemeni children from going to schools if not falling upon their heads and their books and school kits.

We are not so far as you may think, we’re so close, at the same map. We share one planet, one sky. We hear your laughs and see your colored sky, but only few hear our sobbing sighs and see our blood spilt on ground.

While you are playing with your children, ours are sitting on the windows, waiting for their fathers to come home safely, with a bread bag in their hands.

While you are travelling safely across the world, holding passports, Yemeni people conceal their identities for fear of arrest when moving to a nearby town.

We are not so far as you may think, we’re so close, at the same map. We share one planet, one sky. We hear your laughs and see your colored sky, but only few hear our sobbing sighs and see our blood spilt on ground.

Although there are many occasions worth celebrated in Yemen, how we could gather in all that enduring destruction, rejoice amidst all that death!

We just want to live, just like you, and it is a profound sense of disappointment that we find ourselves compelled to defer our dreams year after year, hopefully that they may be fulfilled! They must be fulfilled!
